Clayton Cafe: Your Premier Southern Café Experience in Clayton, GA

Great location. The place is small but not in a bad way. Service by our server was a bit to be desired because we had to remind her that we needed extra napkins. Another server that helped the table next to us did an incredible job, was friendly and came back to his table several times to make sure they didn’t need anything. We make ask to sit in his section next time. The food was good but found it odd that it was served in what I related to dog dishes. Kind of hard to cut certain food items out of a plate that was the shape of a bowl. Maybe it’s their signature and sets them apart for being unique. I would still recommend despite my small nitpicking complaints. Good prices and parking is easy to find.

We enjoyed our meal here. They were busy but kept cleaning and reseating the next guest. They did a great job! Their friend green tomato does have a spice to it that we were not expecting.

Another great gem in Clayton Georgia! This quaint Cafe has a great history. Opened in 1931 in a building that first served as the local Trailways Bus station, the Clayton Cafe is the landmark eatery in Clayton. Friendly service, hometown vibe. Great food!! I recommend the pumpkin pancakes or the cornbeef hash!!

My family has been coming here for years and has always loved the food. However, this year was a bit disappointing. The restaurant was ice cold, and they have changed the mac and cheese, which used to be delicious. All four members of my family agreed that it was some of the worst mac and cheese we have had. Overall, I would recommend the cafe, but I hope management will address these two issues.

The food is soo delicious. The seating is a little tight though However, the food is super high quality and affordable. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich with mac and cheese. My soul left my body it was SO good. The service is great, the workers are really friendly and approachable :) The atmosphere is very nice, the whole space is gorgeous and clean.

We visit friends in Franklin NC every year and took a trip down to Clayton as we were visiting waterfalls. The Clayton Cafe is a great place to stop in for a quick bite. All of our food was amazing but I was blown away by the fried chicken sandwich. Hot, crispy, juicy, tender, well seasoned, and LARGE! Definitely one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. Come with a big appetite or enjoy your leftovers later. The staff was great and took great care of us. The restaurant as a whole was just outstanding and we will make this a yearly stop. Thank you Clayton Cafe!!!!

This little local restaurant was the best meal we had in Clayton GA! The food was delicious and service was fantastic! They close at 3 so make sure to get there early! The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere for being a crowded restaurant!

Excellent restaurant. Friendly staff. Food has great flavor and good portion size. Our table had chicken and dumplings, BLT (with fried green tomato), chicken pot pie, and chicken biscuit. All were good.
